This luxury product comes equipped with a 22-inch touchscreen monitor that offers tens of thousands of workout classes from iFit, and makes automatic adjustments to coincide with trainer-led classes. The 2450 features a 3.6 HP motor, a max weight capacity of 300 pounds, a -3 percent decline, and up to 15 percent incline. There’s a max speed of 12 mph, and the integration of Google Maps™ allows you to “travel” the globe for your cardio sessions. While it’s pretty large, the hydraulic lift system allows you to fold the tread for easier storage. Due to these luxury features, you’ll have to pay around $3,000 for this product, but that’s less than what some competitors charge for a more basic treadmill. So if you’re targeting a treadmill that offers a seemingly endless number of trainer-led workouts and have the budget to add the 2450 to your home gym, we think you’ll find it worth that price tag.

The NordicTrack 2450 is one of the most high-tech treadmills on the market. It features a 22-inch touchscreen display that can tilt to your comfort level, and rotate 360 degrees. Your purchase includes a free month of iFit, and all of your trainer-led classes offer automatic adjustments to the incline, decline, and speed settings.

NordicTrack Commercial 2450 Treadmill Highlights

While the NordicTrack Commercial 2450 doesn’t feature any pre-programmed workouts, you’ll receive a 30-day trial to iFit with your purchase, and you can always utilize the manual mode for those times you want to get straight to your cardio workout. The 3.6 HP motor offers a quiet experience, so you won’t be that annoying roommate, family member, or neighbor.

The automatic adjustments to the trainer-led iFit workouts really take the cake for us with this treadmill. Everyone lacks motivation occasionally, and we think this feature will bring the best out of you, even on those days you want to slack off. The foldability of the 2450 also comes in clutch for those who are tight on space in their home gyms. You can easily fold it, rotate the monitor, and bust out your exercise mat and/or dumbbells to join any of the additional iFit workouts. This will also allow you to store more gym equipment in your space when you’re not using the treadmill.

Who Should Buy the NordicTrack Commercial 2450

  • Folks who want the latest and greatest with their home gym tech will enjoy the automatic adjustments, 22-inch touchscreen monitor, and the endless number of virtual workout classes from iFit.

  • Beginners and experts alike will find the iFit workouts suitable for their individual needs.

Who Shouldn’t Buy the NordicTrack Commercial 2450

  • While the 2450 is around the same price as some more basic treadmills, those on a tight budget will want to source some cheaper alternatives.
  • Anyone who wants a treadmill with a no-frills approach will want to find a more straightforward option.
  • While this treadmill can fold to free up some space, those who are already working in a cramped area may want to consider a smaller product.

Price

The NordicTrack Commercial 2450 Treadmill is priced at around $3,000. But the final price tag is determined by your choice of iFit membership, any additional warranties you wish to add, and whether or not you want white glove assembly. While this isn’t necessarily the most expensive treadmill on the market, it also isn’t the cheapest. When browsing the web, you’ll notice some other companies charge the same price for a product that doesn’t offer any of the same tech-savvy features, while some are actually more expensive.

That said, $3,000 for a treadmill is still a fat stack of cash. So if you don’t envision yourself using all of the luxury features or simply using it enough to get your money’s worth, you might be better off going after a more budget-friendly treadmill. But in the grand scheme of things, we think this is a pretty solid value considering what you’re getting from this treadmill. If you wish to finance your purchase, NordicTrack does a great job of laying out its payment plans, so be sure to check them out.

Overall Build and Quality

In our best Bruce Buffer impersonation, “weighing in at 303 pounds”, the NordicTrack Commercial 2450 Treadmill is built like a rock with plastic covering the sturdy steel framework and a 3.6 HP motor that can support users up to 300 pounds. This treadmill is certainly built to last, but NordicTrack also throws in a 10-year warranty on the frame and two years for parts. The 1.9-inch rollers might be a concern for some as they may not last as long as a treadmill with rollers 2.5 inches or bigger, but we don’t think it’ll be an issue.

Features

The NordicTrack Commercial 2450 offers many modern conveniences, such as a 22-inch touchscreen monitor that pivots and rotates 360 degrees, so you can stream various strength training classes from iFit. This tread has a -3 percent decline, a max incline of 12 percent, and a max speed of 12 miles per hour. One of our favorite things with this treadmill is that during your trainer-led workouts, the speed and incline will both automatically adjust; that way, you’re always being pushed. But let’s dig into these features a little more below.

Max Speed and Incline Range

For those wanting to add resistance to their runs, the NordicTrack Commercial 2450 provides runners with both incline and decline settings ranging from -3 percent decline up to 12 percent incline. This comes in handy in many instances, but especially during those trainer-led classes as they’ll be automatically adjusted, mimicking running or walking outdoors. Don’t worry, though, you can always override those adjustments manually if you need a breather.

In addition to the automatic adjustments to your incline and decline, you’ll also experience automatic adjustments to your speed settings that range from zero to 12 miles per hour. In our opinion, this is a nice touch and brings a true sense of running outdoors, as your speed will change in conjunction with your incline setting. And similar to those incline/decline settings, you can always manually adjust your speed.

Included Workouts

Unfortunately, the 2450 does not feature any pre-programmed workouts on the monitor. However, you do receive a free month of iFit with your purchase, and you can always utilize the manual workout mode if you just want to burn some calories quickly.

Display

We really enjoy the 22-inch HD touchscreen monitor on the 2450 and think you will as well. Not only can it tilt to your comfort level, but it also rotates 360 degrees. So if you decide you want to pay for an iFit membership, you can stream your classes from the monitor, get on the floor, and participate in a yoga session or a dumbbell workout

The interface with the monitor is also pretty seamless in our eyes. It’s easy to navigate the menus, and everything is laid out nicely for you. We really like the ease of use with the touchscreen controls, and are positive you will as well. You’ll find various challenges to participate in, and there are 16,000 classes to choose from, with more being added as you read this.

The monitor will also give clean readouts of metrics such as incline, time, calories burned, distance, pace, heart rate (if you pair a monitor), and more. The HD display should help runners feel fully immersed in their runs, delivering crisp views of routes outdoors.

Fans

This treadmill has two cooling fans located below the display with three speeds to keep you cool during your cardio workout.

Heart Rate Monitoring

The 2450 does not feature built-in heart rate sensors on the handlebar, but you can always pair your existing heart rate monitor or fitness tracker via Bluetooth. The ActivePulse™ Technology enables the tread to adjust your speed and incline settings to maintain your optimal heart-rate zone, but you will have to purchase a SmartBeat™ Heart Rate Monitor separately.

Handlebars

The 2450 has a basic handlebar positioned in front of the two fans that comes in “handy” as you’re looking to catch your breath. The framework on either side of the running surface can also double as handlebars while hitting those steep inclines.

HDMI, USB, and Other Inputs

While this treadmill does not come equipped with any inputs for your phone, tablet, or any other electronic device, we think the other luxury features found with this treadmill will have you forgetting about your devices altogether.

Bluetooth and Audio Options

Remember, since the 2450 does not have any built-in heart rate sensors, you’ll have to utilize Bluetooth connectivity to achieve an accurate reading of your heart rate and/or burned calories. Located underneath the touchscreen display are two speakers that provide ample volume of your trainer and the background music, which is a wide range of genres. You also have the option to pair your Bluetooth headphones for a more immersive experience.

Water Bottle, Cup Holders, Tablet and Phone Holders

While the NordicTrack Commercial 2450 does not come equipped with any sort of tablet or phone holder, there are two large cup holders for storing your water bottle, shaker bottle, or cell phone. You might experience some wobble at the top-end speeds, but it likely won’t be enough to cause your belongings to fall out of the cup holder.

Product Specs

The 2450 offers a powerful 3.6 HP motor, a large running surface, and a solid amount of cushion to soften the blow on your joints. It features a foldable design, so you can make the most of your available space in your home gym, and ample room on the tread for athletes of all sizes. One thing worth noting is that the rollers are slightly undersized at 1.9 inches. While we still think they’ll hold up, rollers of this size have to spin faster to ensure the belt moves fast enough and may wear at a faster rate.

Motor Size

The 2450 comes equipped with a powerful 3.6 HP motor to provide athletes up to 300 pounds with a max speed of 12 miles per hour. It’s also pretty quiet, which comes in handy for those who don’t live alone, and like to work out late at night or first thing in the morning

Running Area

This treadmill provides a spacious running area that’s 20 inches wide and 60 inches long. This gives you plenty of room for the occasional stumble and prevents you from feeling too cramped during your conditioning.

Weight Capacity

With its strong motor and steel frame, the 2450 can support runners of up to 300 pounds.

Folding Options and Dimensions

Those who are tight on space will rejoice at the ability to fold the 2450 after usage. It’s a pretty easy process due to the hydraulic lift system. Simply lift up on the back of the tread, and it’ll do most of the work for you. Just remember, this is still a pretty large piece of equipment that isn’t guaranteed to fit in all spaces. So be sure to measure out your home gym if you’re already super cramped. When unfolded, this treadmill is 81 inches long, 39 inches wide, and 59 inches tall.

Electrical Requirements

The NordicTrack Commercial 2450 plugs into a standard 120-volt outlet. To avoid a power surge, it’s recommended you turn the treadmill off and unplug it after each endurance workout.

Belt Information and Roller Size

The two-ply belt featured on the 2450 is built to last, but some people may be a little bummed about the 1.9-inch rollers as rollers of that size are traditionally not as durable. However, considering this is such a sound product, we think they’ll suit you just fine.

Cushioning and Feel

Instead of offering adjustable cushioning, the cushioning on the 2450 now stays on at all times. We don’t think there is too much of a drawback with this, though, as it’s designed to save your knees in the long run.

Workout Apps and Compatibility

NordicTrack equipped the 2450 with access to iFit, which offers over 16,000 on-demand workout classes for you to join. While you’ll have to pay for this membership after the free month trial runs out, we have found it to be an awesome feature. If you are traveling but still want to join a class, or maybe you just want to stream the class outside for some outdoor training, the iFit app is available for iPhone and Android phones. Your stats and workout history are shared between the treadmill and your smartphone, so you’ll never skip a beat in tracking your progress.

Subscription Options

While checking out, you’ll be presented with three different yearly membership plans in addition to paying $39 a month for iFit. These plans will make your initial purchase more expensive up front but will save you money in the long term. The one-year plan is about $400, the two-year plan is around $700, and the three-year plan is roughly $900. With your subscription, you can add up to four additional profiles, so you can potentially split this five ways if you want.

Warranties

With your purchase, NordicTrack includes a 10-year warranty on the frame of the 2450, a two-year warranty on parts, and a one-year labor warranty. If you want added protection, you can purchase the three-year extended warranty for about $180 and the three-year maintenance plan for around $340.

Places to Buy

You can purchase the NordicTrack Commercial 2450 on various websites, such as Amazon Marketplace, or go straight to the source and purchase it from the NordicTrack website.

Company Information

NordicTrack is one of the leaders in cardio equipment such as treadmills, exercise bikes, rowers, and ellipticals, and they also manufacture their own strength equipment. Your purchase includes a 30-day trial period in which you’re eligible for a full refund if you aren’t satisfied with your equipment. To reach their customer support team, you can call them at 1-888-308-9616.

Final Word

The NordicTrack Commercial 2450 is not your typical treadmill. It features modern technology, such as a 22-inch touchscreen monitor, and automatic adjustments to your incline, decline, and speed settings during your trainer-led iFit workouts. It has a powerful 3.6 HP motor that can support up to 300 pounds and provides a max speed of 12 miles per hour for those who like to sprint

The integration of Google Maps™ means you can virtually travel anywhere in the world, and the treadmill will mimic the lay of the land during your run or walk. There aren’t any built-in heart rate sensors on this treadmill, but you can always pair your own via Bluetooth. It might fall out of some people’s budget with a $3,000 price tag, but we think the powerful motor, durable tread, and luxurious cushioning make it a great product worth considering for your home gym.

FAQs

How much does the NordicTrack Commercial 2450 cost?

This treadmill features a starting price tag of about $3,000, but the final price tag depends on your iFit membership plan and whether or not you want any additional warranties added or white glove assembly. There are plenty of treadmills out there that are cheaper if you want to save some money, but we think the price is justified here due to the high-quality nature of this product.

Can the NordicTrack Commercial 2450 fold?

Yes, you can fold this treadmill into a V-shape to create more space in your dedicated workout space. Just remember, it’s still a pretty large product, so you should still map out your home gym to avoid spacing issues.

Does the NordicTrack Commercial 2450 come with pre-loaded workouts?

Unfortunately, this treadmill does not feature any pre-loaded workout programs. However, you do have a manual workout option you can always use. At the end of the day, though, the 2450 was designed to be used with iFit, and we think the membership is worth the price tag.
